The static magnetic
field of magnets is three-dimensional and extends into space above and below the
magnet as well as to the surrounding space on the same level. Objects within this three dimensional space can be affected by the magnetic field. Every precaution
must be made to ensure that sensitive imaging equipment is installed outside the
certain Gauss magnetic flux density level. As
an example, CT scanners, Electron
Microscopes, and Bone Densitometers are to be installed outside the 1.0 Gauss line.
Vibetech consultants, using state-of-the-art
instrumentation and techniques, will
accurately measure and map magnetic flux density around the magnet rooms to ensure
functionality of all sensitive medical equipment installed in the close proximity
of MRI systems. Vibetech consultants also can examine/verify the effectiveness of
magnetic shielding used inside the MRI rooms.
